UNLOCKING TRAVEL AGENT WORKFLOWS WITH MULTICABIN BOOKING
We needed a refresh of the multi-cabin booking experience for agents, without overwhelming them.
Travel agents were juggling dozens of browser tabs to book multiple staterooms, constantly copying guest info between windows and losing their place. Rather than rebuild everything from scratch, we identified exactly where agents needed parallel processing and added dynamic tabs at those specific points.
The existing system had major usability problems, but rebuilding wasn't an option. We had to improve what was already there.
If we couldn’t rebuild the structure of the booking engine; why not just build on top of it? Adding cabins should be as simple as adding a tab in your browser. A separate workspace but another resource to aid in your goal.
The Anatomy of Stateroom Tabs
The main method travel agents could distinguish between booking rooms; and recieve all of the information at a glance.
Labeling
Iconography
Dynamic Pricing
We were able to build upon the existing funnel to add functionality and flexibility, without recreating the system.
The multi-cabin tabs adapt in real-time based on what agents need to accomplish. We designed every component to work seamlessly on mobile devices and built them as modular sections that sit on top of the existing system. This modular approach means new features can be added quickly without disrupting the core booking flow, making future updates faster and less risky.Retry
Overview
Problem
We had to support a new multi-cabin booking without breaking the existing structure that agents were used to.
Outcome
We introduced a system that built upon the standard booking flow so that agents can handle 4x staterooms in the same amount of time.
